Hey there, jewellery lovers! I'm Utsav Parasrampuria, one of the partners at Amarkosh Jewels, and today, I want to take you on a little journey behind the scenes of our world of jewellery design. It’s a world where diamonds, gold, and precious stones come together to create pieces that are more than just accessories – they’re stories, dreams, and pieces of art.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the sheer variety of diamonds? Round, Princess, Oval, 1 carat, 2 carat, F colour, H colour, VVS clarity, VS clarity... It can be a lot to take in, right? I get it. That’s why I’m here, to demystify this process and show you the love and care we put into each piece at Amarkosh Jewels.

Designing jewellery is no small feat. It’s intricate and takes a lot of effort, but I’m honoured to share our process with you. We at Amarkosh specialise in modern jewellery with a hint of Indian culture. We primarily use gold, natural diamonds, and gemstones like pearls, rubies, emeralds, and tanzanites, crafting pieces that cater to the sophisticated tastes of those seeking something extraordinary.

My journey into jewellery design began with a diamond grading course at GIA and learning from my mother, the renowned jewellery designer Archana Parasrampuria. Over the past seven years, I’ve developed a deep passion for this craft, and I draw inspiration from everywhere – nature, architecture, animals, flowers, and even dreams. Whenever an idea strikes, I quickly sketch it out on my iPad using Procreate. My sketches might not be perfect, but they capture the essence of my vision.

Once I have a sketch, I sit down with our in-house designers to discuss the materials, whether it's rubies, emeralds, or diamonds, and the type of gold we’ll use. We also consider the piece’s dimensions, fittings, and overall aesthetic. Our design process is meticulous, and we only select 2 out of 10 designs after a thorough review. We then move to the CAD phase, transforming the sketch into a 3D model. This helps us visualise the piece and make necessary adjustments, ensuring the design is both beautiful and cost-effective.

We’re very particular about our materials. Gold is our primary metal because of its value and allure, and we carefully select each gemstone, inspecting them for quality to meet our high standards. Sometimes, we make changes based on the CAM piece, opting for different gemstones if it enhances the design.

Quality is non-negotiable for us. Each gemstone is meticulously inspected, and we ensure transparency in every piece we create. What you see is what you get – no surprises. Our manufacturing process combines machine precision with hand finishing, achieving the best of both worlds. Once the piece is crafted, it undergoes a stringent quality check to ensure perfect finishing and durability. After the piece is ready, it is polished and finished to perfection. We inspect every detail to make sure the diamonds are set well and there are no scratches.

Thank you for joining me on this journey through the art of jewellery making at Amarkosh Jewels. Each piece we create tells its own unique story, crafted with passion and precision.
